A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I’m a recovering lawyer
I used to be a corporate lawyer. That was a hard pass for me. So, I moved into law school administration (which felt like an acceptable next step, as a JD-required job). That was fine…for a while. But, the siren calls of freedom, autonomy, growth, and purpose wouldn’t leave me alone. So, I decided I was done with all of the “shoulds” and “sensible decisions” and took the leap to entrepreneurship.
I started an interior design business before coaching
My first foray into entrepreneurship was starting an interior design business. I loved parts of it. But, I realized that it wasn’t a good overall fit. That experience taught me so much about how to pick a business you’re actually going to enjoy in the long-run. It also taught me that evolution doesn’t mean failure.
I'm the host of The Lawyer’s Escape Pod
Along my own career exploration journey, I realized there were so many people questioning their career choices and options. So in 2019, I launched The Lawyer’s Escape Pod to highlight stories of lawyers who’d taken the path less traveled in their career. One of my the biggest take-aways I can share is that you’re not alone and there is nothing wrong with wanting more.
You only live once
I know it’s a cliché, but it’s also true.
I was pushing 40 when I realized I needed to make a big, scary jump. Part of me thought it was too late. But a bigger part of me knew I’d regret it forever if I just went through the motions for another 20-25 years.
I want to wake up excited for the day.
I want to feel like I’m bringing my whole, best self to my work.
I want my work and my life to be an actual reflection of my values.
And that’s what I want for you, too.

The Heart-Centered Business Approach
I’m not here to tell you that you should pick a business idea because it uses all of the skills you’ve acquired in your career (a career that you’re presumably not that into…).
I’m also not here to tell you to find an obscure gap in the market and fill it.
Let’s not build you a new prison of your own making.
My goal for you is to build a business that allows your unique talents to shine. A business that embodies your values. A business that fits well into the life you want to live.
And, not for nothing, a business that is fun for you!
